Pop up Venues, Circus Tents, Australia

Overview

Stunning pop-up venues & circus tents with fantastic programmed artists are available for events around Australia; up to five different venues to choose from.

These pop-up theatre venues can be programmed with a handful of deluxe circus, comedy, music and theatre shows to make a mobile festival feast! Alternatively, you can just hire the venue and program it yourself, or we can do a mixture of the two. Please let us know when and where your event is and we can follow up with our suggested program.

Seating 50 to 200 people and including seating, sound, lighting, and complete installation, the venues have been highly successful at major events around Australia for the last four years.

The venues are based in Adelaide but don’t let this stop you – they are booked all over the country and pack down and transportation along with a team for onsite setup are readily available.

The venues come with their own engineer’s report, a professional risk assessment, $20 million public liability insurance, and they meet all the Australian Health and Safety guidelines.

THE POCKET: Good things come in small packages. This venue is a little dynamo. It’s a pocket rocket. It’s 12 canvas walls containing (at times barely) the full force of entertainment power. With a slightly retro colour scheme and some mid-century styling the Pocket feels a bit Space Age and that’s okay with us. Blast off!

RASTELLI: This tent is a tribute to Enrico Rastelli, the greatest juggler of all time and one of vaudeville’s biggest stars.  It was said Rastelli possessed “body motions that apparently spoke the language of the props”. This venues design draws upon the abstract art theories of Wassily Kandinski to interpret the movement, energy, rhythm and poise of a performer such as Rastelli – and to reflect the reactions, expressions and moods of the audience.

THE PARLOUR:  The Parlour, originally developed for Sydney’s Spectrum Now Festival 2015, in design collaboration with Yakusan. It’s enchanting wooden facade – adorned with deep maroon and navy Trompe-l’œil detail – canvas roof, and rich velvet interiors, echo a by-gone era. Immediately evocative of Victorian circuses and opium dens, the decadent venue allures with the dark, the exotic and the unfamiliar.

With a flexible interior layout (including the ability for cabaret-style set up) and circus rigging bar, The Parlour is set to be the star of many events to come.

THE LITTLE PALAIS: The striking high contrast design of The Little Palais demands attention in any setting. The alternating bands of colour tease the viewer’s perception; is it light on dark or dark on light, are the lines expanding or contracting? Did that tent just move? Like a kaleidoscope the pattern seems to constantly rearrange, never settling for long; a precursor to the ever-changing experience within.

THE UKIYO: The word Ukiyo is Japanese and it means “The Floating World”. The inspiration for much of Japan’s greatest art, the Floating World refers to the collective pleasure seeking quarters of urban Edo (modern day Tokyo) life. It was a time of never before known peace and prosperity where culture flourished and the common people could enjoy theatre, music, dance… and some less virtuous forms of entertainment perhaps. Experience and appreciate the transient, fleeting beauty of life in our own floating world, the lavish Ukiyo tent.
